Job Overview/Summary:
Join our client, Scripps Health—a nationally designated Magnet Hospital, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level I Trauma Center. In the 30-bed Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU (NST ICU), Registered Nurses are part of a Model Care Team focused on standardized, evidence-based, patient-centered care. As a destination for higher-level neurosurgical trauma care in Southern California, NST ICU offers progressive programs and therapies, with opportunities for professional development and hands-on learning.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care within scope of practice

Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care

Deliver high-quality, patient- and family-centered care
-
Serve as the primary care provider for patients under the Care Team model

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
Primary Skills:

Trauma surgery care
-
Critical care and trauma patient management
-
Comprehensive stroke care
-
Neurosurgery including EVD, Camino, Licox, and lumbar drain procedures
-
Shock management and advanced resuscitation techniques
-
Mechanical circulatory support
-
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
-
Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP)
-
Target Temperature Management
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Interventional Radiology exposure
-
NIH Stroke Scale Certification
-
Progressive Care RN experience
Qualifications:
-
Nursing degree from an accredited institution

One year of recent adult ICU RN experience

Valid California RN License
-
Current AHA BLS and ACLS Certifications

Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English

Demonstrated positive interpersonal behaviors
