Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Perishable Associate to join our retail operations team. This role is vital in maintaining the freshness, cleanliness, and product availability in the Perishable Department. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience

  • Receive, code, rotate, and store perishable merchandise accurately and efficiently

  • Maintain proper product levels in all perishable areas, including meat, frozen, dairy, and ice cream

  • Process and prepare meats, grinds, and other perishable items per production requirements

  • Wrap, label, weigh, and stock products in meat and other cases

  • Assemble, disassemble, and clean grinders and other equipment

  • Sanitize department areas and maintain cleanliness per safety guidelines

  • Execute product layout, display standards, and promotional signage

  • Understand and use company systems like ACIS and CAO for inventory and ordering

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety protocols

  • Observe and report unsafe conditions and incidents

  • Adhere to company dress code and uniform policies

  • Complete all required training (CBT, training packets, and training aids)

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Primary Skills:

  • Customer service and interpersonal communication

  • Basic understanding of inventory, rotation, and merchandising

  • Food safety and sanitation awareness

  • Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Familiarity with ACIS and CAO systems

  • Basic knowledge of meat preparation or handling perishable goods

  • Previous experience in grocery or retail operations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to learn and perform various tasks and technical job functions

  • Must meet the minimum age requirement to handle specific tasks (where applicable)

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
