Job Title: PATIENT SERVICES LEAD

Job Overview/Summary:

Patient Services Leads are responsible for coordinating patient meal service, including special requests and needs within the Patient Dining Program. They ensure that Patient Dining Associates are trained and that units are adequately staffed. These professionals are integral to cultivating a compassionate healthcare environment by addressing patients' dietary needs and preferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee systems and processes to meet the strategic and operational goals of the Patient Dining Program.

  • Supervise Patient Dining Associates in providing patient support, including menu selection, tray assembly, delivery, and retrieval.

  • Collaborate with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate patients with food allergies, sensitivities, and cultural or religious preferences.

  • Evaluate daily patient meal services and maintain communication with nursing teams.

  • Respond promptly to patient needs and escalate concerns appropriately.

  • Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on restricted diets, including liquid or calorie-controlled plans.

  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies.

  • Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, JCAHO).

  • Follow HACCP guidelines for safe meal assembly and distribution.

  • Maintain health, sanitation, and safety standards as per regulatory bodies.

  • Complete regular reports in accordance with Morrison Healthcare policies.

  • Conduct daily team meetings using GR8 Start Meeting guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read and interpret procedural documents.

  • Proficient in managing patient records and navigating hospital-based ADT systems.

  • Familiarity with dietary and nutritional requirements in healthcare settings.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience in leading or supervising food services in a healthcare environment.

  • Knowledge of HACCP and JCAHO regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate hospital systems and maintain accurate patient records.

  • Must occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds and handle food delivery carts.
