Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team and provide high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting with basic nursing functions and daily living activities. Under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), the PCT supports the care team in maintaining a safe and organized environment while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities:

Assist nursing staff in delivering patient care as per PCT’s training and departmental needs

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients

Promote consistent, compassionate, and positive patient interactions

Advocate for a patient- and family-centered approach in all care decisions

Use effective communication techniques, including active listening and clear information sharing

Apply evidence-based best practices to enhance the patient experience (e.g., SAFETY rounding, Teach-Back)

Participate as an active and positive member of the healthcare team
Primary Skills:

Basic patient care and safety protocols

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)

Team collaboration and patient advocacy
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Understanding of SAFETY rounding and communication frameworks (e.g., AIDET, Narrating Care)

Experience in medical-surgical (M/S) units

Exposure to acute care environments
Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent
-
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

CNA license as mandated by the state of practice

1+ year of experience in an acute care setting preferred
