Job Overview/Summary:

The Microbiology Applications Analyst supports continuity of care by optimizing the movement of patients and their medical information between facilities. This role focuses on extending standardized EHR workflows to enhance treatment, clinical documentation, and data capture, with a specialized focus on microbiology workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Support improved continuity of care between existing healthcare facilities

  • Improve the movement of patients and their medical information between facilities

  • Extend standardized and best practice healthcare treatment and documentation workflows of the client’s existing EHR system

  • Enhance treatment and clinical documentation for patients

  • Improve data capture and reporting for clinical and operational use to improve care outcomes

Primary Skills:

  • Knowledge of Bedrock Audit/Build tools

  • Knowledge of Oracle Health Pathnet Microbiology module

  • Knowledge of Blood Bank workflows

  • Understanding of microbiology workflows including organisms, scripted workups, and workcards

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience in healthcare application implementation or support

  • Familiarity with broader EHR workflows beyond microbiology

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and appropriately identify risks, issues, and barriers with timely escalations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks at once

  • Ability to lead difficult conversations appropriately and rooted in best practice
