Job Title: Industrial Hygienist

Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Industrial Hygienist to ensure occupational health and safety in the workplace. This role involves identifying health risks, implementing mitigation policies, conducting employee training, leading biological monitoring programs, and enforcing corrective actions when necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of occupational health regulations and experience in risk assessments and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and collaborate with management to resolve occupational health issues.
  • Conduct studies to monitor and assess employees' exposure to health risks.
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee biological monitoring programs to track workplace exposures.
  • Assess and analyze research data, summarize statistics, and compile reports.
  • Propose and lead the implementation of programs to protect employee health, including ergonomic improvements.
  • Conduct regular audits of occupational health programs.
  • Ensure employee awareness of occupational health and safety concerns through training and presentations.
  • Implement corrective actions and suspend operations if necessary to protect workers.
  • Advise on workers' compensation claims related to workplace exposures.
  • Stay up to date with occupational health and safety legislation to ensure compliance.

Primary Skills:

  • Knowledge of occupational health and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Strong understanding of exposure assessment, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with biological monitoring and safety audits.
  • Proficiency in training employees on health and safety protocols.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Familiarity with workplace ergonomics and environmental health programs.
  • Experience working with workers' compensation claims related to occupational health.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex research data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification required.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, occupational health, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to generate detailed reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
