Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to manage, configure, and troubleshoot firewall security policies across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in firewall management for Palo Alto, CheckPoint, and Cisco firewalls, along with experience in AWS and Azure network security configurations. This role requires hands-on experience with firewall rules, NAT policies, role management, routing, and troubleshooting in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
- Handle and resolve firewall tickets, specifically related to role and policy management.
- Manage and configure firewall rules, NAT policies, and routing configurations.
- Address and resolve firewall requests for Palo Alto, CheckPoint, and Cisco firewalls.
- Process firewall-related tickets for AWS and Azure environments, focusing on network security configurations.
- Coordinate with the team to handle firewall change requests from ServiceNow and through the designated request management system (Tufin).
- Perform troubleshooting on firewall policies, NAT issues, and route configurations.
- Provide technical support and document firewall-related issues and resolutions.
- Ensure security policies comply with organizational standards and guidelines.
- Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth firewall operations.
- Participate in change management and audit processes related to firewall configurations.
- Ensure timely resolution of assigned tickets in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
Primary Skills:
- Proven experience with firewall management, including Palo Alto, CheckPoint, and Cisco firewalls.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as NAT, routing, and security policies.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments, focusing on firewall and security configurations.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Tufin for request management.
- Knowledge of firewall role configuration, policy creation, and troubleshooting.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting for firewall configurations.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust Security principles and best practices.
- Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS/IDS).
- Understanding of network segmentation and microsegmentation for security enforcement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Network Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in firewall security, network security, or security operations.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCSA, AWS/Azure security certifications) are a plus.
